Johnston police arrest 2 in drug, weapons raid

JOHNSTON, RI — Two Johnston men were arrested on drug and weapons charges following an early morning raid at a residence on Harding Avenue.

Nicolas Pacheco, 35, and Francis Meseck, 36, both of 33 Harding Avenue, were taken into custody at approximately 5 a.m. Friday, May 23, by members of the Rhode Island State Police HIDTA Task Force and the Johnston Police Department.

Pacheco faces charges of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation (two counts), possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, controlled substance conspiracy, and forgery and counterfeiting.

Meseck was charged with possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation (two counts), possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and controlled substance conspiracy.

The arrests resulted from a search warrant executed at the Harding Avenue address and subsequent investigation by the HIDTA Task Force and Johnston Police.

Both suspects were transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing before being arraigned in Sixth District Court.
